Description
TAG Heuer celebrates to the upcoming Year of the Rat with a special edition of the Autavia Calibre 5. Introduced just shy of the Chinese New Year, the new reference WBE5193.FC8300 features a bronze case paired with a unique red gradient dial. The latter sees the numeral at 1:00 replaced with the symbol for shǔ (鼠).
One of the coolest bits however is found on the case back. Done in titanium, it is engraved with a rat -donning a set of vintage-style racing goggles- behind the wheel of a race car. A cheeky reference to both the heritage of the Autavia as well as the Jade Emperor's Great Race perhaps?
As with its standard-issue siblings, the Autavia Special Edition Year of the Rat is powered by a chronometer-certified version of the self-winding Calibre 5. The bi-directional bezel is made of black ceramics. It is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
